Angelika Kluk, 23, had been staying at St Patrick's chapel house in the Anderston area of the city. She was last seen at about 1400 BST on Sunday. The previous day she went to a golf range in Bishopbriggs with a man known as George who is believed to come from the Aberdeen area. Ms Kluk is described as slim, with long, fair hair and green eyes. She had been due to return to university in Poland in the next few weeks. Ms Kluk's sister and father have also stayed at St Patrick's for short periods in the course of the last year, which operates an open door policy. The centre's Fr Nugent said: "This has come as a terrible shock to everyone who knows Angela. It is totally out of character. "She is a very organised person who is committed to her studies and is due to return to Gdansk very shortly. "All who know her will be praying for her safe return." Chief Insp Elaine Ferguson, of Strathclyde Police, said: "Angelika's family and friends are becoming increasingly concerned for her safety and we are appealing for her to get in touch." Police also urged anyone who may have seen Angelika or knows of her whereabouts to contact them. She was last seen with the church handyman within the church grounds on Sunday afternoon. It has since emerged that the handyman, who the congregation knew as Pat McLaughlin, was in fact convicted sex offender, Peter Tobin, 60. Tobin, who spoke to police briefly earlier this week, has since vanished. Detectives are keen to speak to him, stressing that he poses a "potential risk to the public". The last known address for Tobin, who was jailed in 1994 for raping a 14-year-old girl and indecently assaulting her friend in Hampshire, was in Paisley.
