I was born in Warsaw, Poland on a winter day in 1981.
Since my early childhood my parents tried to introduce me to the miracle of computing. I must admit that I was very resilient to that idea for a very long time.
After primary school I have chosen a way that led me where I am now. I have chosen electronics.
And again, I found it less interesting than I expected but it allowed me to gain some understanding of ... well, many technical things.
My secondary school had a program of exchanging students with Fife College in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. I have chosen that way too.
In 2001 I had an HND in Telecommunication Engineering, an HND in Computer Technology and some plans for future that were not even clear to me.
2002 brought me to a decision making point ... go back to Poland or stay in Scotland. I decided to stay and enrolled on BEng Computer Systems course at Napier University, Edinburgh.
|
A year later I got a chance to make up my mind about my studies while doing a 12 month placement in West Lothian Council. This time convinced me I wanted to switch courses. Therefore in 2004 I was finally doing Level 4 of BEng (Hons) Software Engineering at the same university.
Upon finishing Level 4 of the Honours degree programme, I have done 3 month placement in Technical Strategy Team of West Lothian Council's IT department.
On 14th July 2006 I have graduated from Napier University, Edinburgh with BEng (Hons) in Software Engineering.
After working as an Education Developer for West Lothian Council for a long time, I have decided it was time for a change. I have moved to Lothian and Borders Police and I am currently employed as Analyst Programmer in that organisation.
